Default Lx 600 f sport early review/impressions

I have had my 2023 LX 600 F Sport in manganese Luster with Red interior for exactly 2 weeks now. My other vehicle is a 2022 37 package Ford Raptor, which I have been using as a daily driver and I do activities where I need a pickup truck bed. So far here are my impressions of the LX 600 as a every day vehicle. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who has been a Ford fan boy since 2018 and I have owned nothing but Fords since then and only dailyed a Ford Raptor the last 5-6 years.

1) BUILD QUALITY INSIDE AND OUTSIDE IS IMPECCABLE in my opinion, and I detail my own vehicles.

2) I can honestly say I have never owned or ride in a more solid feeling vehicle, and the raptor is incredibly solid and well built.

3) With only 1250 miles in mixed driving I am averaging 20 MPG. Although I am purposely driving for fuel economy in comfort mode to break the engine in. Don't believe most of the reviews that say 15-17 mpg.

4) As I stated I have only driven in comfort mode so far as I am trying to break the engine in for fuel economy, but I value handling in all my vehicles and this vehicle handles better than my Raptor, and I have not even used sport or sport plus yet. Again, don't believe the reviews.

5) F Sport Ride Quality = 90 Percent of the reviews out there say that the LX 600 F Sport has below average ride quality because of the 22 inch wheels and existing tires. Keep in mind I'm coming from a Ford Raptor riding 18's with 37's and the raptor has one of the best riding vehicles currently on the market, and not just by pickup truck standards, and in my opinion the F Sport with 22's rides and handles as good if not better and I live in the northeast with roads that take a beating because of our winters. Although in the late fall I will be changing to either 18's or 20's for a winter snow tire. Again, don't believe the reviews until you drive it yourself.

6) Wheels = I have washed the vehicle twice and I am amazed at the workmanship and quality of the F Sport wheels. It really is extremely high end machineship quality. Some of the highest quality wheels and design I have seen on a vehicle.

7) Paint = high quality.

8) interior = very high quality and the seats are extremely comfortable. Every surface is awesome to touch. Again attention to detail is amazing. feels solid.

9) Engine = So far so good. Very smooth. Power delivery is awesome and the torque down low feels great. Make no mistake, for weighing 5850 pounds this vehicle is fast. I liked the 5.7 in the LX 570 but I like this better.

10) transmission = works incredibly well with this engine. Hunts a little bit down low or when you change speeds instantly but not enough to hurt the performance. A very solid combination, Engine and Transmission. Again , don't believe the reviews.

11) Infotainment = This is the only area of the vehicle where I am a little impartial. I feel like the infotainment functions are fine, but could be better as far as cohesiveness . If you are coming from a different manufacturer this is the one area that will take some getting used to. Personally I am fine with the 2 screens and I can understand why lexus did it although it could have been done with one in dash screen, although I am ok with it. I think Ford might do this better.

12) Driving experience = LOVE IT !

13) Gut Feeling/emotional feel = For the last 6 years I have said that the Ford Raptor is the best daily driver you can own for doing everything, but if I had to sell one of the vehicles I would be selling the raptor and I would figure out a way to utilize the rear cargo area more.

14) Versatility = Thats WHY I bought the LX. I have always been a big fan of the LX and the Landcruiser for their versatility . I love the fact that you can daily drive this vehicle in luxury and take it off roading or hunting if you want to, especially with 18 or 20 inch tires. Have fun doing that with a Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator.

15) Size = Another big reason why I bought the LX 600. In my opinion it's the perfect size. The other Full size SUV'S are way to big ! unless you have a family with 4-5 kids.

16) BUILD QUALITY.

17) Value = Yes it is expensive. But from day 1 I feel like it's worth every penny and if you paid $ 110,000.00 you are getting every bit of that from performance to BUILD QUALITY. The value is in the guts of the LX and the build quality. This vehicle will last 20-25 years if you keep up with the routine maintenance.

18 ) Suspension = GREAT ! Keep in mind I'm coming from one of the best suspensions out there currently in the Ford Raptor. The LX is not far off and in some ways better.

In closing the LX or Landcruiser have always been dream vehicles for me, I know that sounds dramatic, but it's true. Not because of status symbol but because I feel like the LX and the Landcruiser are the best all around built vehicles you can own for doing everything. Yes I paid alot for this vehicle but I feel like I am getting every pennies worth.

I'll Qoute Johnny Lieberman of motor trend back in 2019 when he reviewed the LX 570 at $ 100,000.00 and he said I quote, " It's $ 100,000.00 and it's worth every penny".

Yeah I have had a few higher trim Ford trucks, was initially looking at Tundras but really need a 3/4 ton or more truck.

Have owned a few older land cruisers and traveled extensively on and off road in all kinds of conditions in a few LC200 and LC105 in central Asia on hunting trips. Pretty sturdy vehicles.

My girlfriend has an X5 and its going to be due for replacement next year, she wants a 3 row, and since the 600 is similar dimensions as the X5 I put a deposit on a 600 luxury. I have a fairly low mile f250 king ranch and just did a bunch of work to it, gonna see if I can get 4-5 more years out of it.

I looked at a Tundra capstone yesterday (someone had it at work) and while its nice I really hope the Japanese made LX600 is a little tighter on the interior misc. I have an S63 Mercedes and I am hoping its a little closer to that (probably hard to match but close).

I put the deposit down without looking at one. Some time out but will give a review. Plan to get 18s at the parts desk for my use, put some all terrains on it.

I think you'll be happy. Which trim level of the LX did you choose ?

My brother has 2019 Raptor, I tried it off road and the suspension throw me off although it is a very capable vehicle. The LC200 is always my choice for off road and trail driving although the seats are less comfortable than the Raptor. Then I had 2008 LX570 for a few months, and fell in love with it. Solid car, suspension is great on road and off road, my wife and kid love it. I am confident that it could work year for year without any serious issue. So, i made up my mind and then I sold the LX570 to LX600 F sport. The F sport suspension is a bit busier than urban or luxury version, but overall a very comfort ride.

Did you have or still have your GSF?
I’m planning on trading in my 2020 GSF for LX600. Did you get a chance to drive a luxury version and if so, what made you decide on the f sport.

I ordered a luxury with ACH. Can’t do black or red interior on this order, need to change it up as had too many already

My fords have mostly been super duties in 4x4 diesel, but I had one newer style f150 lariat ultimate pack in FX4. I had an 08 Tundra SR5 TRD and felt it was a better than the F150 FX4.

Those super duties are real easy to mod. Very competent off road, absolute tanks. When I travel in the middle east and “stan” countries I see a lot of Raptors and tell them get super duties imported instead…

to be honest I have been a ford fan boy since 2018. I’ve owned probably 4 raptors in that time. Absolutely love the raptor, but I can not stand dealing with ford corporate when it comes to ordering a new vehicle and their delivery process is terrible and I am very much not on the same mindset with ford as a company in regards to how they conduct their “ global “ business.

let’s put it this way, ford is really good at spreading false propaganda and marketing. They are not as “ pro United States “ as they claim. Fact !

and it doesn’t help that I have 2 newer versions Shelby mustangs sitting at my ford dealership with electrical and mechanical issues.

Ford has had the most recalls by a wide margin the last 3 years !

I had a 2016 GSF fully loaded in ultra sonic blue and I absolutely regret getting rid of it !!!!!!! I had owned a 2013 bmw m5 and the GSF was hands down the better performing sedan. Handled much better than the M5.

I miss the GSF so much that I almost bought another one over the LC 500.

I actually traded in a ford bronco Wildtrak for the LX 600 and I’m glad I did. Actually made $ 3000.00 on the bronco.

Not what I wanted to hear. Lol. I have USB 2020 GSF and I thought I would keep it forever so I spent the money on full body PPF. Not sure if it’s the right thing to trade for LX600 but winter renders the GSF useless without AS or snow tires.

I've been driving my '23 F Sport since April and I echo what the OP has posted. I love my black on black F Sport. I was offered (and turned down) a Caviar Black with Palomino interior which I wanted, but my twin infant sons will destroy it.

The Raptor is a cool vehicle for sure, drove one someone had at work once.. I had that one f150 fx4 lariat in a 5.5ft bed and I just couldn’t use it to haul 12ft goods so will never get a 5.5 again. (Saying fx4 just to not confuse that its a Raptor, fx4 is just a marketing gimmick)

At the time I also had a 2.7L/3.73 fleet style 2wd long bed f150 as well to get around town in and park out in the street. That was actually a really good truck.

Had a bunch of Ford trucks. The ordering, at least they let you ala carte a lot of options and get you what you want. The supply chain screwed that up but my previous experiences weren’t that bad, pretty well top notch.

I ordered a 22 Tundra too and it took too long and we got another F150. It was a work truck and on the forums they say you can’t order them but it came exactly as we wanted and was a rare bird. It was an SR so maybe they got me in on a fleet deal or something.

Black exterior with white interior. Sounds like an absolute PITA

Big time, but it looked soooo nice!

My black on black F Sport is already a disaster with 2 car seats, each car seat has an additional car seat cover from amazon.
