Curious if this will end up being expanded to the 2024 model year as well, as there are reports of some 2024 Tundra's also being affected (however the Tundra recall itself is also not for the 24 model year).

Doesn’t affect Japan manufactured engines. Only NA.

Source?

Aren't all the LXs made in Japan and the recall mentions these LXs?

that’s not accurate at all. If you’ve got one call your dealer they can tell you if you are going to be in the recall.

I believe that the V6TT Tundra engines are made in San Antonio, and the LX and GX engines are made in Japan. Speculation is that they both suffer from the same issue. This could well spill over to the GX550. Time will tell. All the more reasons I'm holding on of my 460s, and I've toned down my enthusiasm for a 550.

Good point. However no recall notices for LX600 in the Japanese domestic market nor other markets like Australia/NZ.

The engine has been in production since 2017 for the LS500.

It could be some LX600 in the US were fitted with US assembled engine blocks due to shortage in Japan.

It still doesn’t rule out that these engines within the recall could have been from the US factory as Tundra is part of the recall. hard to believe both Jap and US factory had the same production problem at the same time. I just don’t believe in coincidences.

there is no chance for a LX/LC to have a US built engine. There are stickers that specifically state where the engine was built usually on left rear glass. Have you purchased one from a dealer before? Where is this info coming from?

my 600 is part of the recall, I already got the notification, and my motor was Japan built.

reading this stuff now makes me wonder how much other misinformation I got from forum posters over the years who have no idea what they’re talking about

They probably make the blocks all at one foundry.

That is just one component; and the one with machine debris.

My 2024 LX600F (we took delivery May 24) was made in Aichi, two checks of the recall site with VIN are not showing it is one of the recalled trucks.

Correct. The actual failure were from the partial engine assemblies supplied by Toyota Motor Manufacturing at Alabama.

However, process improvements were made at the Tahara plant well in Japan.
