Drive with air suspension in low mode?
Can you actually drive with the air suspension in low mode? I'm giving thought to an LX600 to replace our BMW X7. However, there is an area in an underground garage we frequently use (in Boston) where the X7 has about 2 inches of clearance under a beam. The LX600 in normal mode would hit this beam or come uncomfortably close. Wouldn't need to drive any faster than 10mph in that area.

The suspension is not air - it's hydraulic and much superior than BMW/MB air suspension. You will not have the common issues like the Germans. Keep it below 7 and you can drive in low. See chart.

Funny that this came up when it did. Just yesterday (Saturday) my wife and I took our 2024 LX600 to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to attend a performance, and we parked in the KC parking garage. The clearance (hanging signs/barriers) was 7'0". We lowered the suspension down as we went into the garage, and it still hit the hanging barrier (I think it hit the shark-fin antenna, not scraping the actual roof at all) even in the low mode. We parked in the high area at the edge of the garage, rather than venturing further into the garage, and we are very glad we did. Things got lower as we walked toward the elevators at the center of the garage.
Beware and take care. I would say anything below 7'2", even in "low" mode, would be too tight. Probably higher than that if you have the roof rails (we don't).
