Default Lx600 over msrp official thread

Hello guys, lets talk MSRP over pricing at dealerships since I have been hearing a lot of markups lately.

I will start.

I am in florida and the dealer I put in a deposit is doing 10k over msrp, and then another local dealer is doing 50k over msrp, let me hear it !!

They are saying deliver in mid february/march

Honestly 10k over is not BAD compared to other brands/dealers!

I'm sorry but anyone who pays 10k over sticker is a fool. 50k over sticker? A complete joke. Soon enough there will be a reckoning where dealerships are begging people to buy cars again and then all the people paying over MSRP for a rapidly depreciating liability will be left holding the bag.

Agreed. $10k over MSRP is laughable, but $50k? I would not even consider one of these at sticker.

Maybe 2 or 3 years ago, any new LX could be had at invoice less any rebates at the time. We will be back to this eventually, but may take a couple years.

I would like to know of anyone buys that LX with a $50k markup.

Boise is asking $8k over on an order.

I have no problem paying over MSRP...if it has "GT2RS" or "Weissach" on the window sticker.

Orlando, Florida is charging 30% markup. They also said the first LX's coming in are going for $106k before the 30% markup.

Looks like I am going to wait a year or two. My 2016 is still doing fine with 144k miles...

Las Vegas, NV. One dealer is asking $7k, the other is asking $15k and calling it a "protection package."

Reno, NV is MSRP, but must include $1300 of tinted windows, nitro filled tires, and door edge guards plus "Stargard." I have not found a single dealer that is at MSRP without any BS added on. Going to leverage that with their expectations for post purchase survey ratings when I make it to the table, but MSRP plus forced extras is the best I've found so far in the PNW +/- 1000 miles.

Thanks for the heads up! $1300 is not bad considering all the other prices I've been seeing so far. I'll give them a call and give it a shot!

I called them last week and they did not mention that $1,300 package. But they told me that the expected delivery is 8-12 months from now and they require $500 non-refundable deposit. But I am their regular customer and they probably knew that $1,300 extra would make me angry :-) I am still not quite sure that the new LX is better than my old one (2016). I expected things like Lexus Teammate and an offroad version with lockers, improved approach/departure angle... But there are no improvements.

I am going to pay over msrp, 10k is not bad, its already a 100k vehicle, not many will be made and it will be slow to get them, at this rate, with inflation, things are getting worse, not better.

Which dealer is this? This seems like something Lexus of Palm Beach would do

I haven't asked them, but they are notorious for markups. Their IS500s are 20k over sticker, their RCF Fuji is 35k over sticker, and pretty much any LC is 10k over sticker. Just so you know, Fort Lauderdale doesn't have a Lexus dealer. My guess is that you're probably referring to JM Lexus or Lexus of Pembroke Pines. Having said that, the 4 dealers in Miami (Lexus of Kendall, West Kendall, North Miami, and Pembroke Pines) are super shady so I'd suggest searching further north. JM Lexus is a good start, but when I ordered my IS, they kept insisting there was no way to do a custom order. So I went to Lexus of Palm Beach and they ordered it exactly to my liking and I paid MSRP and I got them to remove the dealer fee. So it might be worth checking both of those dealers out. I have close relationships at Lexus of Palm Beach and they haven't let me down yet.

I'm surprised JM is asking for 10k ADM. Their practices have really changed. They were big advocates about discounts before and now it seems almost all their cars have markups. I'm not going to order a LX; I just got my IS 2 weeks ago lol. But I like hopping around on all the forums and helping wherever I can. It might be a longshot but perhaps it might benefit you to contact Lexus of Palm Beach to at least see what they are charging. I wouldn't mention that another dealer is doing ADMs or they might decide to add one lol. They are very good about providing all documentation on orders though. The day I ordered my car I left with confirmation that my order was submitted and I even left with final pricing in hand and in writing.
