Unhappy Instrument Panel

Something went wrong with one half of my 94 GS300 instrument panel this week. The speedometer and odometer stopped working all of a sudden. The rest of the gauges are working fine.

Any ideas as to what might be the problem? I'll appreciate your comments.

simplest scenario: you need to replace a fuse
worst case scenario: you need to replace the sending unit

Thanks for your comments. I did checked fuses in the hood fuse box, but could not find any blown. However, I didn't check the solenoids nor the interior fuse box. I'll have to do an exhaustive inspection this weekend.

I sure hope your first scenario is the right one.

There are no fuses for this. The instrument panel has a computer behind it. That must be checked for speedometer being inoperative. Have you noticed any drivability issues with your vehicle. If the answer is no, then it is not your sending unit. If speed sensor has gone bad then your car would be jerking its way done the street. Most likely you need a new computer for your intrument panel.
