Battery rod fell in engine bay!

Battery rod fell in engine bay!
So was swapping out the battery and the rod in the back holding the battery bracket (top) fell and I'm not sure where it went. I was surprised that nothing holds it in place and it just can fall that easily!
I couldn't find it after looking for a while and the mechanic looked with his flashlight and couldn't either. It bothers me that there's something under the hood.
Anything to do? And can it just be left there without doing any damage.

May want to jack it up and then try to look from the underside for the battery rod. Else buy one of those magnetic long sticks and prod around try to catch it on the magnetic tips...
