car shakes at 60-65mph
Ok my car runs smoothly at near every speed, but around 60 to 65mph it starts to rumble. This problem has been going on for a long time...i need your help please! I've already balanced the tires and got an alignment done. What else could be the problem?

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago from about 75-85 mph. Alignment and tire balancing didn't help, but a second tire balance did the trick. Not sure if it was due to a better machine or a better operator but I won't go back to the first shop.

Have you had your tires rotated?
Another thing that plagues my RX is having two many stones in the tires. Every 6 months, I take the time to get them out. It made a BIG, BIG difference.
The balancing is probably the cuplrit. I used to have Midas do it here in Mexico, but then when Toyota came here, I started doing it with them. It made all the difference.

You can have the tires balanced again, but make sure that the front and rear rims are checked for runout. The rims can be out of round and that will cause a shake, even if your tires are balanced perfectly. A bent rim can be difficult to see on the vehicle, but on a tire machine spinning, it can be detected.

Go here:

and find the nearest 9700 machine to you. Whoever/wherever that is, go there. This machine ought to be able to answer all questions regarding balancing and wheel runout.
