![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I dropped by the local dealership for some power steering fluid yesterday and the parts man gave me a bottle of Valvoline Pyroil without charge. I didn't want to offend him so I didn't say anything. A service advisor later told me that although there is a Toyota branded PS fluid, they use the Valvoline on all the cars they service. I would have preferred to have been told that by the a tech, but none were in sight.
Can you guys please comment on whether this is OK to use?
Thanks,
Mike

On a 99 RX300 I recently took in for service, I brought in Valvoline Powersyn PSF. I also brought in their synthetic brake fluid and asked them to change it with that instead of the Toyota fluid. The Toyota fluid does not cut it where I live, Mexico.
I have personally never seen Pyroil, but I have had very good experiences with the Powersyn. The wheel no longer fights me on high speed turns and the brakes stop solidly. The Toyota fluid (brake) I highly believe was contributing to warped wheels. Moreover, I have not experienced any leaking with either the PSF or the brake fluid, as this was a concern frequently mentioned by other CL members.
