Default buy locally and save on shipping....

Fram makes a filter that fits the SC that you can get at most auto parts stores for about $20.
Externally, it looks the same as the Bosch.

It's not as good as the Bosch, the Bosch is made in Japan, while the Fram is a cheaper filter made in Israel(recently Fram is also using Chinese filters!).

I bought a fuel filter for my LS at Lexus of Concord, $36, it would be almost the same if i went through Steve.

The best tool you can get for the job is a 14mm line wrench. It's just like an open end wrench, but has one more side for a better grip that won't strip the nut. The best $10 or so you ever spent.

Considering how much you brag on that "BobIsTheOilGuy" web page about how you actually try to convince perfect strangers in auto parts stores not to buy Fram filters, I am not surprised you've taken your crusade over here to ClubLexus, as well.

But unless you can back up your claim that the Bosch fuel filter is better (or, more importantly, that the Fram fuel filter is somehow inferior enough to put bishop's SC at risk if he was to use it), then it is nothing more than conjecture on your part, isn't it?

i dunno, Fram makes a OK filter for Ford/GM/Chrysler apps, but all their import stuff is made in Israel or China, i recommend the OEM Denso one primarily because it looks like a quality product. I'm under the suspicion that the Bosch one can be made by Denso or another Japanese filter maker. And Fram/Purolator/Wix/Deutsch/Napa fuel filters for imports are almost always made in Israel. I have one on my desk now, i'm trying to cut it open, but they are made of tough steel. I'll let you my findings.

(off topic: i have a bit of a personal issue with Israeli products, but i won't discuss it here)

I had he!! replacing mine on a lift. Prepare for a lot of fuel drain. Not a great fit either. Right in front of the drivers side rear wheel.

I made the mistake on my Supra of buying an aftermarket fuel filter. Turns out the thread on one end was english and not metric. An OEM filter went in much easier. I didn't make the same mistake on my SC300. My filter for the SC was $29 + a small shipping charge.
