Default Help. Longo can't seem to fix my car.

My 2003 GS430 has some really annoying rattles coming from the dash (I believe near the windshield defroster vent) and driver's side front door panel. I've brought it into Longo Lexus twice for the windshield vent/dash noise and it still has not been corrected. Also, during the last visit, I told them about the door panel noise (which is a relatively new noise) and that was not fixed either. The disappointing thing is, before I picked up my car, I was told that a test drive was done with a quality assurance person and that all the rattles were taken care of.

When I got my car back, all I had to show for the service that was done was 17 miles added to my odometer, and a noise in my dash and my door when I go over rough roads.

I have an appointment to bring my car back next week for try #3. I'm supposed to have a test drive with Albert Young, their diagnostic specialist. I've done that once before to no avail because when I brought my car in 2 weeks after the test drive, Albert was on vacation.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Fortunately no, the "repairs" have been covered under warranty. However, as a training physician, I don't have all the time in the world to bring my car to the dealer for the same problem.

Test drive with their D.S is the best way to pin point the rattle. Sometimes your ears tuned into the noise that another person may not be able to hear it. Please remember the car is more quite and it is easier to pick up some of the noise inside the cabin.

The dass/vent rattle noise may coming from the engine area that closer to the firewall and you can hear it inside the car.

VVTi- thanks for the help. However, I really think that the noise from the dash is really from the dash windshield defroster vent or the ML center speaker. At any rate, I'm hoping the test drive will clear things up and open up the road to a final complete repair.
