Hi

I have 2001 GS430 after going ot a dealer and incquiring about extended waranty here is what i was told.

GS430 Extended Platinum waranty 7yr 100k miles 2500 plus tax

I have seen posts here that some of you are paying $ 1700-1900 dollars.


Can you please elaborate what kind of GS you have 300 or 430 and what is your plan

2001 GS430.............no extended plan. These are (for the dealer) in the same class of "benefit" as paint treatments, extra undercoating, interior protection............iow, lots of profit margin.

Hard to say what peace of mind is worth to a given individual, tho, so everyone has to make their own decision. My peace of mind comes from buying the proven reliability of Toyota/Lexus....................

You would be making a very large mistake buying an extended warranty on a Lexus. You buy extended warranties on Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Yugo's not Toyota's or Lexus.

It really comes down to costs and faith in your car. For example a 4yr/50K warranty for 1500. You are basically saying/betting that you believe it will cost more then $1500 in repairs for the COVERED items during that 4yr/50K.
