1. In the maintenance section, there is a section talking about replacing the AC filter. What car's year does this procedure applies for and how much does the part cost?I have a 93 LS. Is it the same procedure? My wife complains about the weak air flow from the vents (at the lowest setting) as compare to our others cars. Our AC is still very cold...
2. Timing belt: I heard from different conflicting sources saying that I need to change it at 90K, others (Lexus dealer) said that the belt is very strong and wide. Changing it is only an option? I also did not see any recommendation about replacing the belt in the owner manual.
3. I have an occasional leak that got water leak somewhere up behind the rear view mirror. The water then drips straight down and wets the anterior part of the shift console. Anyone knows where is this leak coming from? IMO, the most likely place is from the sun roof but I could be wrong... If it is, how do I fix it? Thanks for any help.

I don't know much about the AC filter, but I can help you out with the others.
On the timing belt, they are very thick and strong. Made to really last, but for your piece of mind change it out at 90-100K. I didn't change mine out till 115K and was getting really nervous but the belt still look strong when the mech. showed it to me.
You say the leak comes from somwhere behind the rearview mirror? It seems more like you got a leak at your windshield seams and moisture gets in there once in a while just enough for it to drip through. You might also want to check your sun roof rubber seams to see if they are getting really dry and hard. I usually Armour All mine every season. Open your sun roof and look around the inside and see if there is any rust or a actual hole that indicates water has settled there often. If you do find some rust or a hole just sand it clean of rust and seal it with a silicone sealant.
Good Luck,

Change T-belt at 90k for peace of mind. Can push it to 120k if you must.
Probably a clogged sunroof drain tube.

The above quote is not show A/C filter regarding to my car. I found that my Owner's Manual states that replacement A/C Filter every 15K miles.
Please advice where is the A/C filter for 94 LS400 and how to replace.
Thank you for all helps.

Lextek stated in this thread:

1994 is not 1995, so maybe you don't even have one?? I'd ask him to verify that for you.

Jeez where was my mind on this thread. The very early LS400's did not have an a/c filter. I'm not sure when the a/c filter was implemented, around 93-94 i believe. On the pre 95 LS's the a/c filter is located near the blower motor and is accessed by removing two wingnuts. There should be two filters in there where as the 95's and up have one.
Sorry for the bad info regarding the filters earlier.

Hi Lextex,
Thanks. Well, I am planning to replace Heater valve anyway, I will call Lexus for Heater valve and I will ask for A/C filter on 94 LS400 if they sale the filter that mean there is one. Perhaps, I will ask them where is the filter located at??
What is the symptoms when A/C filter is clog up??
Thanks again.

tn52,
your ac filter is below your glove box like mentioned in another post (lextek) about a 94 i believe. just changed mine on my 93 ls400. they were horrible, considerably more air flow now. back to the point.... you need to remove the lowest piece of trim in the foot well. it's the whole piece with the foot well light in it. i used a screw driver to pry the top part away, there's 3 or 4 clips there. further down there's two plastic 'hooks' that hold the bottom side, you'll figure it out if you feel around, the whole piece needs to be pushed back to get it out. once this is removed the filter can be found by removing two butterfly (or thumb) screws. it is a two piece filter that you can obtain from www.irontoad.com or you could try making your own with a hepa filter as outlined in some other posts.
