Default Starting car w/accessories on & damage

Hi!

I read recently that it would damage a car if you start it with something on, such as the radio or the air-especially if you have climate control. I didn't know this and have always started my RX with the air and radio on. Anyone know if this is true?

I usually don't like starting the car when either the heat or the the a/c had been left on. Just a habbit, because I think it puts unnecessery load on the engine when it's cold.

I alway start my car with radio, AC and headlight in Auto( so, if it dark outside the headlight comes on right way) and never have any problem with the car.

Any sort of electrical load upon first startup isnt going to matter, aside from a massive stereo. Theres not enough load from the a/c compressor to make any different when the car is cold.... normal driving when its cold would have more of an affect. You are perfectly fine with leaving your radio and a/c on upon startup.

Cheers for the replies everyone! I didn't know why it would necessarily cause damage, unless it was from a surge of some sort to delicate sensors or something. But, glad to know that it probably won't cause any problems!
