Oil change at dealership

Two Lexus dealers I go to offer Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Very expensive mind you. I usually buy Mobil 1 at Walmart, K & N or Mobil 1 oil filter & take it to my independent mechanic for about 40% less than at the dealer.

THE DEALERSHIP TAKES YOU FOR A RIDE
Hello,
When I purchased my 99 GS4 in June 2004, the dealership was not careful in removing the previous owners' information. I looked at the invoices, and the previous owner had Mobil 1 installed every oil change after 5 thousand miles on the car. The car was bought over new from Las Vegas, and sold in Phoenix, Arizona. The temperature gets very hot out there, and Bell Lexus informs me that they recommend a synthetic oil to fight the brutal summer heat of the Phoenix-Scottsdale area.
They did not mention though that they charged the previous owner 8 bucks a quart for the oil, which I find outrageous to mark it up THAT much. When I got the car at 59,000 miles, the previous owner had just done the 60,000 mile service a month earlier, and they indeed had charged him that kind of money as part of the service package. They also changed IRIDIUM spark plugs at 59,000 miles, which is ludicrous, but some folks let them get away with it, because they never question their bill. I removed a spark plug to satisfy my curiousity, and indeed they had been changed. They claimed to have flushed the automatic transmission with a machine, andlooked at the power steering fkluid, but did not change it. I changed that after I got the car. THAT is what they chould have changed in my opinion, because it was black and nasty. I assume that it had never been done, so the fluid was original.
Be careful when having things done at the dealership.....they will definitely "hook you up" if you let them.
