Default Ignition Problems

Hi new to the forums... Need some help.

I have a 97 ES300,

Im having problems with the starter/ ignition switch.

When i start my car the starter stay on the fly wheel, and makes a terrible noise that of a dieing rodent.

When i turn the ignition off, take the key out, the starter is still turning my motor over like its trying to start it. WTF? I have to disconnect my battery for it to stop.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen or know what i should do?

Thanks!

It sounds like a problem with the starter solenoid. In any case, the starter motor has to be removed to check out this problem.

Welcome to CL. Sorry to hear about your problem, but you need a new starter. You need to get it fix asap, because if the starter gear stays engaged for so long it will ruein the flywheel.
