Default AC Filters in our cars?

Hi,

I was browsing the Planet Soarer website and found the following link explaining how to change the AC filter : http://web.ace.net.au/soarer/air_con...er_filter.html .

I followed the instructions and found out that my car didn't have an AC filter.
I called the dealership and asked them about this filter, and they said our cars did not come with an Air Conditioner filter. Only the new SC430's have AC filters.

Can somebody verify the veracity of the dealership's statement?

Thanks.

They are wrong!

Look at the Maintenance schedule in the manual in your car. It is recommended to inspect on every 7.5K miles and change on 15K miles interval. I ordered it from Carson Toyota. They were able to find the part number and order it for my 95SC. Paid around $35.

Search, there were threads about this subject and many members are using Hepa filter for home use from Home Depot for replacemnet with much lower price.

I didn't find one on my 98 either. I find that odd.

Thank you all.

Before I posted the question I did a search for "AC filter" and nothing of value came up.
I remember reading about a home-made filter before, but I could not find it anywhere.
Can anybody remember where this can be found?

Also, I actually went to the dealership, and they did a search in their catalog, and they could not find anything for 92-00 Lexus SC.

However, if techsc400 was able to find one from Carson Toyota, we should have been able to find it in the dealership.

Is anybody else missing this filter?
Thanks.

Yes, Carson Toyota was able to find the part number and sell it to me.
My car did not have one installed either. (It was emtpy).
I will check if I still have a receipt. I will post the part number if I have it.

search for Cabin filter. This filter is important, so I would really take advantage of its uses.
