good idea to keep gas tank 1/4 full?
I was reading my owner's manual the other day and it states:
It is a good idea to keep the tank over 1/4 full.
I usually drive until I see the fuel light come on and was curious if the car goes through any more stress when it runs near empty.

Yes, because in theory because the fuel pump is cooled by gasoline and running real low could theoretically cause it to run hotter than normal and shorten it's 500K mile potential life.
