Hello,
My 1998 GS400 is coming up to about 43k miles, and is in need for the regular service. Can someone tell me what I need to get replaced? Also, can I do this procedure myself at home---meaning can I get the parts at a decent price and worry about the labor myself?

Basically, what I was thinking was doing the service myself and seeing if I can order everything, that Lexus may put on the car, from Steve?

What do you guys think, any suggestions? Any help or advice would be great.

Thanks

I am thinking the same thing. Ok, I would think they would do the following:

1. Oil &filter change
2. Tranmission drain & fill\
3. Diferential fluid ( if applicable)3
4. Air filter
5. Rotate tires
6. Radiator drain & fill?????

am I missing anything?

For a es300 this = $360

1. I can change oil ( with synthetic like Mobil1 or Amsoil) and OEM japenese Filter= $40
2. Thansmission drain $ fill = $40
3. For a 98 es300 same as #2
4. I have a Amsoil filter (similiar to K&N) = 0
5. Can do myself or NTB will do for $0
6. I can do this, but is it part of the 45k service?

Hmmm, $280 will get me a pretty nice new color printer I'll just have to see if I feel motivated to get dirty
