Default 2003 GS430 - Retorque Driveshaft Flange Bolts?

Hello all,

The owner's manual for my 2003 GS430 lists "Re-torque Driveshaft Flange Bolts" every 15K miles as part of normal maintenance.

In searching this forum, I've seen this mentioned for the RS300, but not for the GS430. Do the driveshaft flange bolts really need to be re-tightened? Why is this necessary in the Lexus automobiles and not others? Is the driveshaft in danger of becoming loose if this service is not performed?

The postings I saw on the RS300 indicated that it's probably not necessary unless the care is a 4WD model...Obviously, the 2003 GS430 is only RWD, yet it also lists this as a regular maintainance item...

Has anyone tighted theirs and found them loose?

I will check the bolts on my car.to see what I can find.

FYI, the RX300 is FWD, so it doesn't have a driveshaft (it has a transaxle) and thus no driveshaft flange bolts.
