Default Where is my oil filter?

Ok, I have gone thru the threads and don't see anything on oil filter location for the sc4. Where is it located? I don't see it anywhere?

Go to the front of the car, get under the front of the car. You will see a plastic cover, remove the cover partially and you'll see the filter. I suggest you get the shop manuals for your car if you plan on keeping it.

If you're planning an oil change, do some searches here and on planetsoarer.com. There are some write-ups out there showing how to get the oil filter out with no mess and doing from the front and top of the engine.!!! That's how I do it and it is SOOOOOO much better than getting under the car to do it!

arrr. come on Damon... we all gotta start somewhere.. when i first got my car i didn't feel like paying some dud 20bucks just to unscrew a few plug to change the oil..... also trial and error is best way to learn. but then again. i done all that on my 92 camry beater .. NOT THE LEXUS

word of advice.. next time you go for an oil change or any Maintenance that has to do with oil/fluid.. observe how they do it and where they are doing it at(location of car).. or buy yourself a repair manual that's around 15bucks..

1UZ is different. Standing in front of the car. Look down at the engine. Right front, bottom of the engine....there she is!!!

yeah it shouldnt be too terribly difficult to locate, use a flashlight if you have to, but look a little deeper into it and it should be there

Sorry, was only trying to point out that it is possible to do more harm than good.

Update: Just noticed that you are in an ES. Despite the fact that this tutorial is for the LS400 there is excellent info here to help you.

This will walk you thru it step by step for a 1 UZ-FE:

http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lubri...oilchange.html

Good luck!
