clanking and whine sound in engine bay
Roughly 2 weeks ago I started to notice a slight whine coming from my engine bay, I really payed no attention until it started to get louder and I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel pass 15 degree's either way it would stop.
I've been so busy I haven't really gotten a chance to look at it.... I figure it was the power steering pump and its bearings going bad....
well today the noise all of a sudden started to start clanking... making a sound as if metal was repeatedly hitting something..... I open up the hood and can feel each individual clank on the power steering fluid resevoir. Same problem b/c if I turn the steering wheel the noise will stop.
I changed the harmonic balancer a few months ago and other then that I cannot think of anything in the engine that I may have tampered with.
so whats going bad?
