why's my floor soaking wet ???
Does anyone have an idea of why the passenger side front seat floor of my '99 RX300 is soaking wet? It must be from the rain but all of the rubber seals along the door seems to be ok, there are no cracks or dents anywhere, etc. Its so bad the water seeps through the floor mat and puddles up! Its not the AC - my mechanic checked that and said there's no clog anywhere and he can't figure it out.
Any ideas? Thanks

Far out Answer??
My idea may be 'far out'.
I had a serious problem with leaking into the back seat behind the drivers side. I also had a problem with a driver's side door hinge problem. When you opened the door, it rocked up and down as it opened. Once I replaced the hinge, the leaks stopped. My mechanic thinks that the worn out hinge was not allowing the door to seat properly even though all of the rubber seals were perfect.
It is a long shot, but you might try opening the door and trying to rock it up and down. Perhaps, like mine, the hinge is not allowing the seals to work properly.

Also, check the rubber groment where the wires would run through on the firewall of the engine bay. Sometimes water can run in through there if it's not sealed properly.
