Default Battery died and the radio stopped working. Help please!

Hi all, I don't post here much but I read here a lot so please help me out. I have a 99 ES300 with about 118k miles on it.

I never had any problem with the car until this week. The car couldn't start twice in a few days and I had to jump start the car. The battery is less than two years old. The first time I jump started it, everything worked fine after. Today, the radio won't work at all. The power won't turn on and I can't remove the CD cartridge. I was wondering if this is caused by loose wiring in the car from the radio? If so, where would I check for it? Also, I usually turn off the engine with the radio and A/C running if that matters. I was hoping to find a DIY way to fix it instead of bringing it to the shop and pay $100 just to diagnose it, Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

turn ur car on. pull the ground off your battery. does it die? if it does, its the alternator, if not then that means that your alternator is charging the car. more than likely, with ur symptoms, it's the alternator.

yes ur right. battery acts as a buffer. especially when the alternator is bad. or the bridge rectifier is fried. talk about destorying ALL the computers in the car.

the way the first guy posted is for old school i mean classic cars.
