Default oil changes

I have a 1995 sc 300 with 65,000 miles, someone told me I should use synthitic oil with my next oil change. What do you think?

A lot of us (I'd venture and say MOST of us) use sythetic. It runs cleaner and longer, and withstands higher temperatures better and starts flowing much quicker than conventional oil during cold starts. Do it. Just be sure that once you make the switch, you don't go back to conventional without changing all the seals, or you will have leaks up the ****.

Have you personally experienced leaks after switching back to conventional oil? I haven't read any research stating that it does or doesn't corrode seals, but from what the CARTALK guys (anyone listen to this show?) say on the radio it doesn't sound like it matters.

I have 2 friends, one who has an SC, who used synthetic oil through 3 oil changes, switched back to conventional and had to replace several seals to fix leaks. Same problem with another friend of mine who has an older Impreza. I do listen to CARTALK on NPR from time to time, but I suppose it will have to do with age when switching. Both cars that experienced this had 100k+ miles before the initial switch to synthetic.

Synthetic user here, switched at 2,600 and I won't be able to check for seal leaks cause I'm not going back. This engine has the sludge potential apparently but I really just switched for long-term engine life.

Been using synthetic on my present lex and past SSEi. Never had a problem.
There were a few times where reverting back to conventional was unavoidable and no leaks occured.

Dealer oil is Dino oil. Heated dino oil will leave residue in your motor over time. It's like bacon fat in a frying pan.
