Default High milage motor oils...?

Anyone use this stuff on here? Is it really any good or is it just a gimmick? I have 127k on my SC and was just wondering if I should be considering using it...Thanks in advance for any replies.

Most engines like a single motor oil... stick with your choice, whether synthetic or natural..

I've always felt that if the engine oil is changed regularly, whatever the brand, no additives are ever needed. My opinion is that the high mileage oil is just another synthetic or recycled blend of standard oil, only a little thicker.

And, shocked, it's cost is more than standard oil... It's a ruse.

I know Castrol GTX and that new Mobil extended drain are the two that come to mind.

The only thing I might suggest is that while sticking with they same brand of oil, say Mobil 1, you may want to consider moving to a higher weight of Mobil 1. With my RX300, I don't get the same performance with a 5W-30 now than when I had my car at 50K and I now use a 0W-40.

However, avoid those gimmick oils.
