Default Replacing the AC Filter

My 98 LS400 needs its AC filter replaced. Can this be done by myself? How difficult is it? The AC also needs to be recharged. Can a regular shop do it? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tha AC filter on the 98 LS is located behind the glove box. Just open the glove box and look for the black plastic opening at the top of the glove box( you will see it when you open your glove box). Remove it and you will see another white plastic door to get to your ac filter.

Your AC filter may clogged up so bad and won't let the air coming out of the vents, so I recommend to replace the AC filter first and go from there( before recharge your AC system). A clogged up AC filter will slow the air that coming out of your vents, even at high speed you won't feel much air coming out and it will make you think that something wrong with you AC system.
