Since it's clean and tricky to spot the level, check the stick both hot and cold for a couple of days. I usually have to check it a few times when the fluid is clean, trying to get the reflection right on the stick.... engine running in park, just prior and after a drive.

3.8 quarts sounds like the correct volume, removing both drain plugs ...

Just wanted to say that i completed the drain and fill on the ES today.. I had to borrow some tools from the neighbor because the differential bolt was hard to get to.. and the fluid was black as hell.. I added about 3.5 qts and will check it again tomorrow.. The fluid was up to the hot mark after the car got to running temperature..

Thanks to Tammy and a few others for the info... One step closer to selling the ES..
