Default SoCal toyota dealers refuse oil changes on Lexus cars.... ?!@#$

I have an 03 es300 which I don't really give a crap about anymore, since it is out of warranty. Mechanically, it's a Camry.

None of the local Toyota dealerships want to do an oil change on it. They are strictly Toyota only.

How come so many people all over the country have been able to get their oil changes at toyota garages?

Is it because socal is saturated with lexus dealerships?

Lexus oil changes are a frickin rip off. $52 now for <10 minutes of service.

Ive considered changing it myself, but i wonder if my results will be equal to that of the shop.

If i jack up the front of the car, and it's inclined, will all the oil come out?

And I've also feared what would happen if the jack failed and the car fell on my face and crushed my head

The oil change ain't rock science for the ES.

Toyota dealers here in Mexico will change oil on Lexus vehicle with no problems. We don't have Lexus here

If yours is a 2003, it should still have the same 1MZFE engine like on my RX.

This thing is so easy to change.

It seems to vary by where you live. In Northern Virginia, some Toyota dealers will change my oil and others won't (or give a hard time to discourage it). I don't know about the ES, but the oil filter on my RX can be accessed from either the top or bottom. Thus, it might not be necessary to jack up the car to do an oil change. Ramps are another possible option.

My RX should have the same location for the oil filter as your ES. It really is one of the simplest things to do with the vehicles.

Buy the filter and oil yourself and bring it to a mom n pop shop. Most will do it for about $10 or $15.
