I know to take it to the local auto parts store, but what is everyone putting the used oil in between draining it and taking it to be recycled? Three out of the four cars (All Toyota/Lexus) get their regular oil changes done at home, so used motor oil tends to build up fast and it's not always convenient to take it in immediately. I used to keep it in gallon milk containers, but they always end up leaking. The used oil seems to eat through them. Now I'm using a 5 gallon VP Racing fuel container, but I think I need another one.

Costco has 2.5 gallon Mazola corn oil, I bought 2 for cooking and kept the containers, they won't leak.

My uncle often puts my old synthetics in friends' cars, especially Jettas.

It always seems like I end up buying boxes of quart bottles, too much work filling those back up.
