Just had trans flushed with amsoil synthetic
Car shift smoother and there is no more clunking sound between gear changes. I recommend this for anyone who's about to do a drain and refill. It's my understanding that the synthetic doesn't need to be changed as often. I also had the rear diff fluid changed at the same time with amsoil synthetic gear oil. Got a great deal at Ozzi's in Atl.

This is the OEM one that came with my AWD RX300. Only problem is that Lexus in their infinite wisdom decided to deploy the windshield washer fluid reservoir in front of about 75% of the entire filter. Having removed the reservoir, my RX shifts a lot better and the downshifts are much quieter.

um.. toyota/lexus T4 is a synthetic transmission oil... i'd just get my transmission fluid done with T4... except, i'd use a flush machine, without the cleaners/additives... just a fluid exchange... and i'd run 12-16L thru it...

Ozzi's charged me $122 for the flush and gear oil change. I though it was a good deal.
Can I purchase a universal trans cooler (b&m, etc...) to install? Do you guys suggest a specific type/brand?

I wish had access to the Amsoil ATF as everyone who I have known who has used it has had nothing but positive comments.

spent about $150 for (2) 2.5 gallon jugs of universal syn atf and syn 75w90 gear oil from amsiol.

this is the one i have. It's the best price I've seen. Usually its 60-70 shipped. Its only $54 shipped, sold by amazon.com. Only 4 left in stock. Most tranny coolers are universal. It's nothing more than a metal enclosure. Nothing mechanical about it.
A lot of people on here run these. This one is rated up to 24,000 GWVR, far more than we ever need.
I'll post a picture of how mine is mounted. I completely bypassed the radiator's auxilary cooler. I think i'm going to re-connect my system so that the cooler goes after the auxilary cooler. At least I get some more cooling that way. But then I dont know if there is enough pressure in the line to pump the fluid through both coolers. Or I might just keep it the way it is since i'm not experiencing any problem
But you will not regret this purchase. My shifts were smoother after long drives. It use to be that my tranny would jerk slightly after driving stop and go for 15 minutes. Now the shifts are buttery smooth on the same drive. Not to mention, my fluid doesn't smell as bad like it use to.

Next time you guys go for a freeway run, get out of your cars after driving 70-80 MPH for 30 miles or more and pull the tranny dipstick. Surprize! You'll find the fluid is still cool enough to touch without burning your fingers. That's because the normal fluid temp of a Toyota automatic is in the 120-155 degree range. So an auxillary fluid cooler is not needed.
