100K Service on the ES 300
Hi,
I just joined this list. I have a few questions. I have a 1992 Lexus ES 300. I bought the car about 6 months ago. It had 94K miles on it at the time. Now it has 100K miles. Time for the 100K service. The previous owner did almost nothing-----no records except some bulb changes. One dealer tells me that I should spend money on the 60K service and shell out $1950 for timing belt, major tune up cam seals and fuel filter. I call another dealer and he tells me that at 100K the service is basically an oil change $207. Then I call toyota dealer and ask how much the $1950 service would be, and they quote me for the same stuff foe $930. I do not know if the timing belt has been changed already. How do I check? And what am I supposed to do for the 100K service. I am a medical student and hence low on finances, therefore I want to find the cheapest stuff.
