Default Not in gear, clutch issues or ????

sometimes when i put my 96' ES 300 into DRIVE mode and hit the gas, the engine just revs and acts like its in neutral. after a second or two of blank rev, the car jerks and starts to move normally. this only appears to happens when the car is warming up. it doesnt appear to have any problems when the car is moving or when its warm. any one have experience with this with their car?? maybe clutch problem?
thanks

Check you trans fluid when the car is cold, idling and check the fluid when the car is hot. I hope your trans is not slipping.

sounds like it could be a throttle position sensor.

If the trans still seems to work, i would check your fluid and add as necessary. Then see how it acts afterwards.
