Hey All ,
I own an Aristo 2jzgte vvti Auto tranny.. twin turbo and converted it to a single turbo to4r.. and been runing on a piggy back SAFCII APEXI.. Nothing more !

This piggy back is only a temporary one.. and researched and found that i have 3 choices in my hand ( share if u think u have more choices ) to replace the APEXI:

-HKS FconVpro
-Greddy E-manage Ultimate
-AEM ECU

Which one of those do you recomend.. ?!?!
Note: i have futur plans of going for high HP figures.. soo i need one that will stay and no get replaced no matter what HP i reaCH !

Thank you guyz ! your reply is higly appreciated !

aem will not be able to control your vvti. fcon vpro is your best bet

How sure are you ?!?!?!?!?

because non of the ECU's above mention any vvti control except for the E-manage ultimate.. and probably only with the extra V-manage unit that i would have to purchase and install seperatly !

are you aure that the FconVpro can control the VVTi on my Aristo.. !?!?!

Thnx For The Reply Dudez.. Appreciated big time !

You can control VVT-I with AEM. Also the DBW, if you are taking the DBW out of the equation. It would be much easier to tune. Good luck.

Well Well....It seems that my selection has been narrowed down to
-HKS FconVpro
-AEM

much better.. ! i think my body cells are just more comfortable with the HKS FconVpro.. it seems like i am going for it... ! but not sure yet.. !

JPI mentoined that AEM can control the VVTi as well !?!?!? that i didnt know.. !

by the way what is the DBW ?!?!?
and which ECU would you choose.. if you were looking for high HP figures ?!?!

Thanks Guys... i Appreciate it BIG Time !

Autronic is another one that I have seen good reports on, particularly over at IS300.net.

DBW is drive by wire. On these cars the pedal doesent actually open and close the intake plenum, the pedal and associated linkages actaully sends a signal to the computer which then electronically opens and closes the intake Plenum.

One of the big things to consider is what tuners do you have within a reasonable distance from you then find out what they know how to tune. I wouldnt want to purchase a setup and then not have anyone within a thousand miles capable of setting it up adjusting or tweaking when the need arises.

All things being equal if I were considering a high HP setup, I would look at AEM and Autronic.

All 3 are proven solutions by the way, but when it comes to this kind of stuff I like to go down the road most traveled.

well to tell you guys my situation over here in UAE.. most of the workshops tune MOTECS.. cuz its widely used and spread all around the UAE ! i think MOTEC is expensive specialy relative to the ECUs i have discussed above. !

the choices i have..

Creek Workshop (HKS Dealer) tunes:
-FconVpro

Sub-Zero workshop tunes:
-FconVpro
-AEM
-Autronic
-Motec

The weird thing is.. once the HKS dealer took his DRag car to SUBZERO for tuning the FconVpro..!

I have heard alot about the AUtronic as well.. i know a freind of mine who has an Autronic on his SUpra 2JZGTE non vvti.. single turbo T88H ! and had no probelms what soo ever !

soo now another ECU comes into account which is the Autronic.. !

What Should i do.. ?

By The WaY: ARisto 2JZGTE VVTI year 2000
Converted to Single Turbo ( T04R Garrette ) !
The extra bit if fuel is being Fed by the APEXI SafcII
currently runing on very safe and low boost of 10 psi

My next step is to change the fuel system ( injectors, pump, regulatros, rail etc) but obviuosly cant.. until i can find an ECU that i trust and can be the most compatibale and can extract the most HP from my damn ARisto As possible !

Thanks Every one ! Appreciate it !

true the aem can control it supposedly. but if you are looking for plug and play, hks is the way to go. ive talked to a certified aem dealer guy that tunes the aem box (stoopidfast) and he told me that it would not be a plug and play deal like the hks.

You can't really go wrong with the FconVpro. Since your tuner is fimiliar with the product. Morris already mentioned, go with ecu that your tuner is familiar with. Good luck.

Well Well Well.. i am going against my own words... !

Things Changed.... i am not going to install the FconVpro.. i will hopefully be installing the AEM Ecu on my Aristo.. ! as soon as i can !

but there is one problem.. i am trying to find the plug and play Adapter for the ARisto.. and i just cant.. !

soo if anyone could help me find one... if it exists.. ! plz tell me !

Reasons why i choose the AEM over the FconVpro:
-The tuner is more Camapable of tuning the AEM
-The Aem can control both.. the gear and engine settings while the Fconvpro.. controls the engine only !
-Most important.. is that my tuner is better off tuning the VVTI with the Aem than the FconVpro !

Thank you guyz.. i am only keeping you posyed as i promised.. !
lets hope my next post would be my results !

Thanks Again !.. Drive Fast but Think Safe
