Hi, my name is Mike and I am new to this forum. I am a lexus Senior certified technician. I am here to help as much as I can, and because working on this vehicle is a true pleasure. I am wondering if anyone else out here works for a Lexus dealership, or has formerly worked for a lexus dealership. Please introduce yourself to me.

Welcomes to CL Mike
Yes we do have a lot of Lexus techs on CL, but they're come and go. I hope you can hang around and enjoy the CL community.
I see you're in NC , which dealership you're working at.

The Techstreams are pretty nice.. they're heavy and slow, but they are very functional with all kinds of cool crap built in haha.
Sometimes i wish i had no strings attatched and i could just pick up and move.. Texas would probably be kinda nice. Dunno how much the pay would be, but i know that housing and stuff is cheaper. Move your shop out here! Or better yet, open a new shop out here, and let me run it! haha

I'm at Johnson Lexus of Durham. Texas is kind of a far run. I like certain features of the new scan tool, but like everyone else I think that it's too heavy and too slow. I still use the old scan tool very often to do simple check engine lights and the like. One big thing I really like is the explanation of the personalized settings options. The descriptions help in times when Lexus' description fails in comparison.

I heard many great things about the Techstreams. We are looking to invest one in a couple of months. I actually like the new TIS, love the search function. It would be nice if they include the labor rate. With the Techstreams we can do a lot more.
