First Oil Change???
Does anyone know when I should get my first Oil change? I know it should be earlier then normal, but is it really needed, I have about 1300 miles on my car right now, and was wondering should I take it in now to get the Oil change or not?

first oil change
As a general rule I drive my car off the showroom floor and into the oil change bay, install Mobil 1 and new Lexus filter and now I know, can be certain, that I am good for the next 5k miles.

Re: First Oil Change???
I may be wrong but I would change the oil the first 1000 miles on the new engine because it contain the metal chip (fine) the came off from the engine. This first 1000 miles would also be the beak in period. After this the engine parts are setting in, the part s are now fit nicely to each other and you can start drive your car normally. This doesn't mean you can start rev your engine to it red line.
The owner manual should has some reading on the subject

Lexus doesn't recommend an oil change till the 5000 mile service. When I took mine in for the 1000 mile check, I paid for an oil change. A lot of debris is created by the initial break in and I just felt better getting it changed. Won't argue with anyone who wants to go longer, just that for me oil changes are cheap insurance and there are zero problems with changing oil too often. Can't say the same on the other side.
Engine might get a bit quicker and better mileage but it will probably take a while. Toyota engines are very well built and very stable, generally just keep getting better for a while.

Generally the phenomenon of slightly quicker acceleration and better mileage with engine wear is all mechanical, not electrical. While you might make an argument of higher compression with everything seated I think the generally accepted notion is reduced friction from the seating process. High speed limiter is purely electronic. I think for most people quicker would relate to acceleration, not top speed. Then again, most people have probably never thought about it.

Sorry for not Clarifying the question, What I really meanted was if it the 0-60 times increase, because my car is kind of sluggish when I pin it, but when the RPM's start going then the car really starts moving, but it's just that moment when it's at the beginning of acceleration from a standstill that feels a little bit too slow

Don't know what you are used to driving but the GS motor definitely makes its power a little higher up in the rev range. If you are used to big ol' American iron, it is a little different. I don't know if I would call mine sluggish but it is not going to lay a hole shot on anyone. Be sure to turn off all the VSC and traction control. Not sure if it makes a difference but some guys have posted that it can slow things up. Getting some revs up really makes a difference.

Do a search on 'launch' and you should find the good tips. Off the top of my head:
- off VSC
- on PWR
- brake launch until about 1500 RPM or so - though I wouldn't do this too often for fear of wearing out / damaging the driveline - good for the occasional stoplight dash, or 0-60 trials
