Question SST? for is2 OilChange?

I looked around in some threads for DYI oil changes for the 2nd gen IS, I seen people done it with some tools you can buy at your local auto maintaince shop (kragen/pep boys etc...)
But I would like to know where i would be able to get a SST(Special Service Tool) for oil changes? I plan to do my oil changes in 3k intervals, or inbetween dealership services(recommended sercices). I think the dealer has it for sale, but its a bit expensive, i was wondering if anyone knows where to get an alternative one that will get the job done. I would like to do things right to prevent stripping or gashes to the oil filter housing. thnks in advance!

The oil filter socket should be available at your local auto parts warehouse for less than what the dealer is charging. Buy the OEM oil filter, take that filter to the auto parts warehouse, test it on the various oil filter sockets they have available, and purchase the correct socket.

That being said, I got mine at the dealer, and I recall it being ~$5?!

It is, you need a 65mm oil filter socket (NOT the 65/67mm one)

Not helpful, unfortunately, as the 2GR-FSE in the IS/GS, as well as the older 2GR-FE in the ES/RX use a filter cartridge, and not a canister. You remove the entire filter housing from the car, then reach inside and pull out the element. But the element is just that, a round, pleated piece of paper.
