Lexus Platinum extended warranty - the way to go!
Just thought I would note here that the Lexus Platinum extended warranty I bought with the car has paid off. The factory warrranty expired a year ago or so and since then I have had over $10,000.00 in warranty work done, no questions asked. Definitely worth the $2K it cost so many years ago.

Wow, that's a lot of repair work for a Lexus.
I'm glad the Platinum extended warranty paid off for you. Is Platinum the one that pays for anything outside of normal wear and tear?

Yes, everything but tires, belts, etc. Actually I should re-read it.
Anyhow, learned my leason after owning a Q45a a few years back.
That car had one of the best rides ever with active suspension. However that hydraulic based auto-leveling system began leaking and the ecu went out shortly after the warranty expired. needless to say the repairs were about what the car was worth so I dumped it.
From that day on I decided that spending a couple of grand upfront was a no-brainer!

Well, there was a lot and I don't have the work orders here in front of me. As I recall, a good portion of it was the steering pump, rack and pinion, linkage, suspension, pulley, 2 new side mirrors, power antenna, driver's door moulding, seals, tweeter, radiator cooling fan, plus all of the labor, and some other things.
