Synthetic.
Been using Mobil 1 since I bought the car new. It has 92,000 miles on it and runs like the day I brought it home, quiet, smooth, and efficient. Also, try to use Toyota filters, been reading good things about them.

As Taka stated if you have a higher mileage SC and have NOT been using synthetic keep using a good quality regular oil... If you change your oil every 3K miles or so, there is no real need to use syn...
As long as you keep that oil changed... syn or not....

"If" your car would develop any small leaks it would not occur within a week....

Been using M1 10w30 and an M1 filter for 3k miles, and no loss of oil, still right on the line. If starts leaking, its turbo time. I know of a nice wrecked NA 6 speed Supra that still has the driveline. Interior and other nick-nacks are gone, but the good stuff is still there. Sorry guys, can't tell, that would be like telling the Pirates where the gold is!

Chances are that it is either not an NA or not a 6 speed.

One thing I like to do with my cars is change the filter and oil every 3000 like clockwork. If you are of like mind, then using a synthetic is not the way to go. I take the money that would be used on the more expensive synthetic oil and use it instead on the more costly Toyota/Lexus filter you would be better off.
I think if you are the type of owner that changes at 6K mile or greater intervals, then perhaps the longevitiy and resistance to acid that the synthetic oil provides is a good feature.
But if you change oil frequently, like 3K miles, then a good "natural" oil and high quality filter is the way to go.
RED93's oil comes out dark honey colored at each oil change. She has 74K miles on her now. Oil change performed every 3K miles or 3 months, whichever comes first.

I just changed my oil to synthetic on a 91k mile sc300 and I have a small leak of what I think its oil.
I wanted to do a 2jz-gte swap, and plan to use the ge engine for a future mk2 supra celica. But I cannot afford this at the ime and I estimate that I wont start the project till December.... of 2004!
What do I do...
