At what mileage will the alternator and starter need replacement?

All mine lasted the life of the cars, typically sell at 150k.
I can't stress this enough, for my friends that drove American trucks, the starters often went out, DO NOT EVER EVER EVER buy a unit from a Kragen or Autozone etc, those units all die after a few thousand miles, get OEM even if it costs more, you will wear out your "free lifetime replacement" at Kragen etc and be frustrated you have to keep swaping them.
