Default manual transmission flush

my 93 sc300 5spd has 170 000 and i thought it would help if i changed the tranny fluid, who else has done this, did you notice any signifacant improvements, also im not sure, but can you just drain all the fluid from the drain plug unlike a auto tranny? and one last thing, what would be the best tranny fluid and weight to use? thanks in advance

Manual trans fluid is almost like an engine oil change minus the filter. Drain and refill. There is a difference after the change= shift feel.

Where would you refill this? Through the shifter?

there is a drain port and a fill port... drain it, put plug back in, fill til it pours back out the fill plug...
