Default laundry list of recommended maintenance from dealer

hey guys,

brought the car in to the dealer to have the spark plugs replaced ($230) and have the automatic trans. power flushed ($179). i have a 2003 gs w 60k miles.

dealer called back saying i need all this done:

a. brake fluid power flushed ($139)
b. fan belt replaced ($139)
c. coolant flushed ($139)
d. spark plug wires/ coils replaced (in addition to changing plugs) ($230)

would like some opinions on which of the above you would have done. thanks again for the input.

How handy are you? The brake fluid job you can do easily as long as you have someone else with you. You can probably save $130 on that job alone.

Spark plugs wires and coils do not need to be replaced unless they're actually damaged/not-working.

Correct... and the belt, you should look at yourself, look for any cracking in the ribbed area... cracks = recommended maintenance, chunks missing = required maintenance...

Coolant flush and Brake flush not a bad idea, but their prices are kinda high... with Toyota Red fluid, we charge $99 for a coolant flush, and for $76.99, we do a brake fluid flush...

unfortunately, i am not a DIY person so i will let the dealer handle the maintenance.

thanks for the advice on the spark plug wires/ coils. my manual recommends doing the plugs at 60k but made no mention of the wires/ coils being replaced.
