Default Oil filter question

I picked up an STP brand oil filter (S10158) for my '06 GS300. The ends of the filter are sealed with a clear disc except for the center hole. All the other filters I've seen have open ends. Is this filter ok?

Here's what it looks like. See the clear plastic "discs" molded into the ends? (I'm not talking about the little clear plastic drain attachment on the top)

Wow. No one here has seen a filter like this in an '06 Lexus GS300?

it's just molded to keep the folds of the filter material in place... some manufacturers do it that way, some use a plastic spacer, pretty normal...
