Default seized caliper

dammit.

my gs400 was parked outdoors for 6 months and my left front brake caliper is seized up with rust. the right front is still working.

i was thinking of getting a rebuilt one from the local parts place (FENCO?) to replace the left one with, but someone i know is telling me i should be doing both calipers as a pair or else i will have uneven braking performance.

is he right? funds are limited and i hoping to save the right one...

If it is just the caliper, you can replace only one side.
But for pads and rotors, you should do both sides

As long as it performs up to specs it should be good. I would agree that you should do both sides for pads.

definitely not a bad idea to replace both, and I wouldn't do it any other way, but also not a requirement...
