hi guys..it's time for me to get my 2nd oil change since i got my GS400...the first time around i just took it to the shop and they put in chevron synthetic oil..now im wondering which oil is best to use so that way i can just purchase my own oil and let a friend change the oil for me...thanks in advance for the tip

 

most people here using mobil1 synthetic including myself

BUT i saw a valvoline ads in magazine yesterday, it said "valvoline synthetic oil" is 4x better than mobil1.....

 

I use mobil 1 myself

 

Use Amsoil or at least a Group IV equivalent base stock oil. Mobile1 is a highly refined Group III. I managed to burn up my Mobil1 oil in about 1000miles. The Amsoil lasts me about 4-5k miles or so before it's toasted. And yes I drive my car harder than most other Lexus owners

Mobil 1 is definitely the way to go....

oil is oil. i use valvoline synthetic blend. 12 bux for 5 qt. change it every 3k miles. (note: i dont drive hard with my gs, i use mobil 1 for my prelude vtec though)

 

I use Mobil 1 because Every Viper, every Porsche for 8 years or so , every MBZ AMG,and every Corvette since 1984 uses Mobil 1. If it's good enough for there cars it's good enough for mine.

 

I use amsoil 5v30 100% synthetic... a bit pricey but worth it... I notice the car runs smoother and cooler
