Engine hesitation, power loss, sluggish acceleration: Potential fix
#16
I'm going to pic this up next weekend when the my gas tank is lower in the GS LOL.. I've used Chevron before in my mustangs and Lucas products and can't say anthing bad about these. My mustangs ran like a champ for 150K
BTW i did the DIY yesterday from SeattleGS400 to clean the MAF and TB and i noticed a big difference. I did the TB cleaning 3 years ago but i think it was time since the car hasn't been driven that much in the last 3 years.
I wish i would have found this yesterday before i filled up LOL..
Thanks again Seattle...

Thanks A lot for this post. I have recently had this lag problem to the point where I am afraid of merging into traffic worrying i wont have enough power to make it. Sometimes at highway speeds I will feel a little hesitation from the engine like it shifted down or it's cutting off, that is very annoying.
Will try first the fuel system cleaner and follow with the cleaning of the MAF and throttle body later.
Again thanks for the elaborate post

Some advice would be great I am the proud new owner of a 2000 is200 sport but on the third day putting my foot down in 6th gear it lost power at about 3500 rpm and the check engine light came on accelerator was unresponsive i pulled in shut it off and turned the car back on after a few minutes i drove off slowly. The engine light lingered for about an hour also the traction light was flashing for about 30 minutes then went off havent had anymore trouble of that kind, havent put my foot down in 6th either tho... help would be much appreciated. word.
