Kevin, Duralast is fine (i'm running one in my car). Most batteries are fine for normal duty unless you live in some kind of extreme climate that demands more from your battery. The purpose of the battery is to start the car, not keep it running. For this, any battery will do.

Optima batteries are okay depending on how you look at them. Many yellow tops have been unreliable and they're not true deep cycle batteries either. Of course there are people who have no problems with them
I can think of many other batteries I would put my money towards before buying Optima.

I have an optima Red Top and I have never had a better battery, been in 5 cars, and in 2 total loss front end collisions. It has 850cca, whic i need when starting a car that sits (sometimes for days) at temps well below -40*F.

Just a little FYI, there are only a few handful of battery manufacturer. Johnson Controls make almost all of the car batteries you find at autoparts store and walmart. Heck, they even make honda and Optima batteries. I just use the best walmart battery in all of my cars and it has not fail me yet. The only time that I switch battery out of my car is when I track my supra which I switch over to an Braille.
