valve cover gasket leak & bad 02 sensor
I drove about 1 mile after an oil change on my 2005 RX 330 which has 70,000miles on it.
There was a smell of burning oil I never had before and the check engine light and the VSC light went on for the very first time ever.
I drove back the 1 mile to the Lexus dealer which had closed and left it there.
The next day they wanted $1025 to replace the valve gasket cover and the 02 sensor. Neither of these problems did I have before the oil change nor were they reported to me by the mechanic who did an inspection that day.
What could have caused these problems to happen after an oil chnge?
Could the mechanic have overfilled the oil and would tht caue these problems?
If the oil was overfilled do I have possible other problems? a bad CAT converter?
Would appreciate some knowledgeable advice on how to proceed with this problem at my Lexus dealer?

There may have been oil spilled when doing the oil change, which would explain the burning oil, and the appearance of a leaking valve cover gasket. The O2 sensor is probably just a coincidence. Im guesing its an O2 heater circuit malfunction code. Get the details from the dealer. Also, your car falls very closely into the 6 year 70k mile powertrain warranty. You can probably talk with your dealer and have them take care of it for you under "goodwill" warranty.
