Timing Belt
#16
I have 89k on my GS400. The Lexus Dealer wants 1000 bucks for the 90k service (Timing Belt, Spark plugs, Inspect the....., Check the.....). I called a Toyota dealership in the area, and they will do the timing belt for 400, plugs for 80. From what I've read the spark plugs should also be done and maybe the Water Pump. Is there something that I'm missing in the differences in price? How much is the other check the.., and inspect the.. Lexus 90k servicing worth?

Taka,
Thanks for asking yea, it's up and running. My mechanic had to reprogram the alarm. I think that once the battery was disconnected for a few hours, the alarm had some sort of kill switch that was engaged. I guess he got the code from the Lexus dealer. There was no extra charge for it. He has been cheap and has done good work in the past.
Since we have gotten a lot of snow in in the NE the Lex. has staye in the garage. I have been driving te 90 Range Rover for the past few days.
Thanks to all,
GT
