Default minor leaks

I just purchased an 02 gs3 w 155,xxx than i noticed a minor oil leak near the valve cover so i decided to change the gasket out n my mechanic point it out when the car was on the lift. the there was a minor leak where the transmission and motor connects decide to change that gasket out too. i know the gasket cost no more than 30 bux. charging me totaling up to 4 bux. is that a rip off???? anyone????

You are talking about engine rear main seal(between the engine and transmission). It's a big job and they have to remove the exhaust system, the drive shaft, transmission wire harness and remove transmission out to replace the rear main seal. So, 4 bux is not a rip off.
