Speedo and tach issues
Wondering if anyone has encountered these issues. My speedometer and tachometer work very intermittently. Sometimes one works and the other doesn't. Sometimes both work fine, sometimes both don't work at all. I'll be driving along and one/both will suddenly fire up and start working fine. Either or both could be working or broken at any one time, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
Any thoughts? I have no idea where to even start. All other gauges work fine. All of the lights on all of the needles don't always light up, that's about the only other issue.

Try striking dash with a closed fist on the side of the pod while driving, See if they come on, If so you have loose connection where instrument panel meets wire interface connectior, If your inclined, remove dash /instrument pod and clean contacts.
Mine started doing the same.

i stripped my speedo cluster out , removed the speedometer and rev counter , i then sprayed electrical cleaner in the rear of the mechanism , where it has what looks like an armature ,i then sprayed a minimal amount of Q20 lubricant spray to lube up the system , and now it works like new , i used to tap the dash and the guages would work , then i got a few hefty fines from johannesburg to durban for speeding due to the the speedo and revcounter under reading ,have checked the speedo with a gps and it is now spot on , i do how ever still do spot checks from time to time to make sure it is not under reading
